Title
THE BOY WHO STOLE THE FOURTH OF JULY
Playwright
PAT ZAWADSKY
Synopsis

Holidays come to life in this enchanting one-act musical comedy for young audiences with fun roles where actors dress to match the holiday they represent. All the holidays but one have been kidnapped and hidden in a cave from which there is no escape. The only holiday still free to celebrate is the Fourth of July (known as Julie). Kim, a happy young girl, (teenage or pre-teen) and her toy dog, Pete, go looking for her (Julie) because they have heard that the Fourth of July is just around the corner. They want to protect her from the fate of the other holidays. That's when they run into Danny, who is trying to steal the Fourth of July. Why would he want to do that? Because of his unhappy childhood. How does he do it? Read the play and find out.

The exciting, fast-moving struggle between Danny and the witches who want to keep the holidays locked up, and Kim and Pete, who want to free them, is funny, suspenseful, and—at times—just frightening enough to keep audiences enthralled and glued to the stage.

Simple set; holiday characters are in representative clothing, others in modern clothes.
