It's midnight in the playroom. Billy and Betty Blue-Jean, a pair of rag
dolls, wake up the other toys for a night of fun. But evil lurks nearby. The mean old Skoolies
(roly-poly toys shunned by the other dolls) sneak in and arrest Suzette, a pretty little French doll,
for not studying her lessons and take her to the dreaded Concentration Campus, (call it the Detention
Campus if you prefer), where it's all study and no play. In their attempts to rescue their friend,
Billy and Betty Blue-Jean are assisted by a colorful assortment of dolls and toys, including a stuffed
horse named Pal-o-Mine, a toy pink elephant that turned blue with sadness because her ears are so large,
a big wobbly spider...but there are villains in the story, too: the Trash Tramps (they litter
everything), a Witch, who uses a broom to fight a fairy with a magic wand, and the Pious Pirates
(little children dolls who ran away from home so they could eat all the candy they want and stay up
late). The Pirates are unhappy, though, and they try to kidnap Suzette because they need a mother.
A terrible fight erupts, with the Skoolies on one side, the Pirates on the other, and Billy and Betty
in between! When the Rooster crows at 5, the toys return to the dollhouse.Kit Carter's memorable,
