Synopsis

The Willow Princess is an adaptation for the musical stage with 9 original songs. This charming adaptation of Will Reese's classic story takes us to Katzenfeld, a fairy tale kingdom filled with cuddly cats and beautiful willow trees. But not everything in Katzenfeld is perfect—the king's evil wizard advisor, Wilber and his mother, Magda the Witch, have plans to rid the kingdom of all of the cats and get rich by selling mouse traps when the mice run wild. Then they intend to trick the king into giving Princess Willow to Wilber in marriage. Fortunately, the day is saved by the arrival of a handsome prince from a neighboring kingdom. All of the cats are returned, and the Wizard and his mother have their plot revealed.

The Willow Princess was first presented by Stage Polaris at the Walter Kaasa Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, directed by Alison Wells, with musical direction by Bev Ross.
