Royalty and Returns
The royalty fees quoted are for non-professional productions. Royalty is due on all performances whether or not admission is charged. Royalty is payable at least 10 days before the first performance. A leasing fee for professional theatres will be quoted on request. Please give number of performances, ticket prices, seating capacity, etc.

Why pay royalty? Governments around the world recognize an author's work as his property. Royalty is the rent you pay for using this property just as you pay rent for a house or a car you use but don't own. If you perform a play without paying royalty, you are stealing from the author...and you are committing a crime.

All of our plays are fully protected by the copyright laws of the United States, Canada, and other nations throughout the world. Presenting a play without our written permission is Copyright infringement, a federal crime punishable by fines and/or imprisonment.

All sales are final. Except for our Music Perusal Plan and rental tapes, we do not accept returns or send plays on approval. To do so would force us to increase our book prices and royalty fees. We try to keep prices as low as possible to help you and your theatre produce quality plays.

We appreciate your business, and we want you to be happy with our plays. We urge you to purchase and read a single copy of each play that interests you before ordering copies for the whole cast. To help you build a script library at low prices, we offer special Bargain Packages. Because we assemble these packages in quantity, we can afford to let you have them at discounts of 25% to 40%. You and your colleagues and successors will refer to the scripts in these collections for years to come whenever it's time to choose a play for your stage. Note: If you choose to perform a play from one of our bargain packages, royalty is still due and you must purchase enough scripts for your entire cast.
